スティーヴィー・ワンダーが、オバマ大統領を支持し応援する作品「キープ・ムーヴィング・フォーワード」を発表した。中東風のメロディーに乗った作品でユーチューブ映像で聴くことができる。映像には歌詞が映される。

今回の大統領選は共和党候補ロムニーと歴史まれに見る大接戦となっている。

スティーヴィー・ワンダーはこれに先立ち、2012年10月７日にラスヴェガスで約6000人のオバマ支持者のために行われた資金集めパーティーでもケイティ・ペリー、ボン・ジョヴィ、アース・ウィンド＆ファイアーら他の出演者とともに登場、歌を聞かせた。

オバマ大統領は昔からスティーヴィーの大ファンで「もし僕がスティーヴィーのファンでなければミッシェル（妻）は僕とデートしてくれなかっただろう。スティーヴィーがいなければ、僕たちは結婚していなかっただろう」とまで述べている。

スティーヴィー以外でも、ブルース・スプリングスティーン、ニーヨ、ハービー・ハンコック、デルタ・レイらが「フォーワード」という曲をオバマのために歌っている。

スティーヴィー・ワンダーは2012年10月24日（水）国連で国連の誕生日を祝うイヴェントに出席。このタイトルは“A Message of Peace featuring United Nations Messenger of Peace Stevie Wonder”というもので、スティーヴィーが主催者となっている。スティング、ワイクリフ・ジョン、ヴァレリー・シンプソン、ビービー・ワイナンズ、ダグ・E・フレッシュ、ジャネル・モネイ、フレディー・ジャクソン、ステファニー・ミルズらとステージに上がった。この模様は2013年2月23日、アメリカのケーブルテレビ局BETで放送される予定。
